About Upper Buckhead
Buckhead appeals to companies seeking high-quality office space in an established live/work/play environment. Most office inventory in Buckhead is considered high-end, and the area is home to numerous trophy office properties. The area continues to add residential density and the community is working on several projects focused on improving walkability and adding greenspace, such as the Path 400 Greenway and the proposed Park Over 400. Buckhead is a major retail destination in Atlanta, as well, and the area is home to both the Lenox and Phipps malls as well as numerous high-end restaurants. Furthermore, its location gives tenants access to the highly educated labor force in northern Atlanta that can commute to Buckhead relatively easily via highway or MARTA rail.
Buckhead has long served as the premier financial center in Atlanta, with firms such as Truist Bank, Morgan Stanley, and JPMorgan Chase maintaining significant footprints in the area. Aileen joined Cushman & Wakefield in February of 2007. Prior to Cushman & Wakefield, she was a Leasing Director at Jones Lang LaSalle, where she successfully leased and marketed several buildings in the Midtown, Buckhead and Central Perimeter submarkets.
She began her career with Equity Office Properties in Atlanta, where she built her career and flourished for more than ten years. Aileen has a wide breadth of experience in staff, asset, accounting, and construction management.
Andy Sumlin, Partner - Agency Leasing Atlanta
He utilizes extensive landlord experience, in-depth market knowledge and strong business and community relationships to achieve quantifiable increases in asset value. Having been on the ownership/development and brokerage side of the industry, Mr. Sumlin has a unique perspective in value creation and ownership concerns.
Mr. Sumlin is a native of Atlanta and began his career with Adams Cates/Grubb & Ellis, serving as a Vice President. He then took a position with Barry Real Estate Companies as Director of Project Leasing. His responsibilities ranged from lead tenant generation for new development, to lease up and disposition for speculative office buildings totaling over 4 million square feet. After 11 years on the development side, he transitioned back to brokerage with Cushman & Wakefield. Over the course of his career, he has represented over 20 million square feet of Class A and B office product and negotiated over $1 billion in lease transactions.
